The Background Story

Luke Perry was born on October 11, 1966. Perry always had a knack for acting and tried really hard to get into the acting business. He auditioned for 256 acting jobs in New York before getting his first acting job. His first role was in the music video “Be Chrool to Your Scuel” for the band Twisted Sister. Perry’s earliest TV roles were on daytime soap operas; one episode of the show, Loving (1987–1988) and ten episodes of Another World (1988–1989).

Luke Perry was known for his famous role on Beverly Hills: 90210. He played the role of Dylan Mckay. Originally Perry wanted to play the role of  Steve Sanders, but lost to actor Ian Ziering. Perry played the role of Dylan for six seasons and 199 episodes. The show had a total of ten seasons. Perry left the show after six seasons to move on to more mature roles.  The more mature characters consist of roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Pike, 8 Seconds as Lane Frost, and The Fifth Element as Billy. With these mature roles, he grew as an actor.

The Now

The most recent role he played, was the dad of Archie Andrews, in the teen drama Riverdale. He starred in 52 episodes as Fred Andrews. Currently the production of Riverdale is closed due to Luke Perry’s unexpected death.

Luke Perry was emitted into the hospital February 27th and unfortunately didn’t recover from his stroke. He passed away on March fourth. He started off on a teen drama and ended his career on a teen drama. Perry will always be remembered and missed.
