Come look at the freaks

The most ambitious production attempted by BHS theater was a huge success.

A theater production known as Sideshow was performed November 15-17. The show is itself is about a pair of Siamese twins who go on a journey of self-love. However they do not do it alone. They are accompanied by a whole circus of other freaks, portrayed by our amazing theater majors.

This musical was one of the toughest to make. The show is based off of a true story so it required a lot of research and a certain technique to put the story into a theatrical setting. Mr. Paris and the theater majors managed to do a great job at portraying this beautiful story and turning it into something a bit more. I personally found myself lost in the show, I was blown way by the performances put on by the actors. They did an amazing job at making you completely forget where you are and just get lost in the show.

Mr. Paris says “ambitious” is the one word he would use to describe the show. Star of the show Luke McAndrew says, “the show is really important, it’s about finding self-love….self-love is really important.” I could not agree with the two of them more. The show did a great job at making you think and feel. It was a great platform to spread a message such as the importance of self-love.

One word I would use to describe the show is “impressive”. Overall, it was a great story, great message, great performance and everyone involved in the production did a beautiful job. If you missed Sideshow, do yourself a favor and come see a future Blake Theater production. You will not be disappointed.

The Blake high thespians killing the theater game!
