Captain Marvel was released March 8th, 2019 and was directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. The film was based on the comic book series (Captain Marvel) by: Stan Lee and Gene Colan.

“Captain Marvel is about an extraterrestrial Kree warrior (played by Brie Larson) who finds herself caught in the middle of an intergalactic battle between her people and the Skrulls. Living on Earth in 1995, she keeps having recurring memories of another life as U.S. Air Force pilot Carol Danvers. I personally thought the movie was female empowering and really funny. I loved how they portrayed Captain Marvel’s character as a strong woman. I also loved the fact that an animal played an important role in the movie. I wasn’t expecting a cat named Goose to be so amazingly funny. The fact that there was so much background story in a two hour movie was amazing. At first I went in thinking the movie was going to be very boring based on the trailers I had seen and I honestly didn’t want to get involved with the film. I’m so glad I decided to watch the film. It was so inspiring and I really enjoyed it. It had so many plot twists and I never wanted to leave the theater. The movie is rated PG-13, so there is lots of action and some mild language. The movie may not be suitable for younger viewers, but I totally recommend  seeing this film. 8 out of 10
