Lula Mae Lewis, an 80-year-old woman who has lived in the Seminole Heights area for 30 years, heard gunshots October 11th, but was afraid to open her door. To her, the gunshots were “too close for comfort,” she clearly states to a reporter for ABC News. Later, Monica Hoffa’s body was found 2 days later.

Victims of the incident

As of October 24th, the serial killer has killed up to three people, each of which were one-hundred yards in radius of each other. According to ABC news, “Police said 22-year-old Benjamin Mitchell was the first person killed on Oct. 9. Two days later, 32-year-old Monica Hoffa was killed in a vacant lot. Anthony Naiboa, 20, was shot and killed Oct. 19.”

A CBS News reporter states that residents in the Tampa neighborhood lit candles as a vigil to those three victims, and walked in remembrance of Sunday Night.

Actions taken?

Police in Tampa are working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. They’ve also consulted the FBI and have reached out to St. Petersburg Police Department for help in the case.
