Instagram has been my favorite social media platform for years, it keeps me connected with friends and is an engaging, creative space. The format of photos and videos and how the app works is nice. Reels and the explore page are an interesting place, but I have found a really good cookie recipe off of just scrolling.

This is common among social media platforms, but instagram especially I find that you can find anyone with any sort of hobby. You can find “your people” and engage with them and create a space of just fun. I never got into instagram as much as I’ve seen some friends but people have deep connections with artists, cooks, cosplayers and more. It motivates creation and skill improvement.

I also love how Instagram helps me organize and revisit memories. Story highlights allow me to save my favorite moments and show them off. The archive feature lets me keep posts private without deleting them. Being able to see updates from friends and have a place to share things that make me happy. The future of social media is interesting to think about after the potential and passed??? TikTok ban. I could say similar sentiments about TikTok as I do instagram and so many people losing that space to create and motivate them. I’m not sure where they will go but I’m sure instagram will stay the same for a long time, minor changes maybe but otherwise, we’ll see.
