R.I.P Legend: Kobe Bryant
Just this past Sunday, January 26th, 2020, the world received the devastating message that our hero and one of the most legendary human beings on earth passed away. Kobe Bryant, one of the best NBA players was killed in a helicopter crash. The basketball star was in a private helicopter with eight other passengers. The helicopter crashed in California between 9:00 and 9:30 in the morning. Bryant was traveling with his daughter to his youth basketball academy when they and seven others perished in the crash. The helicopter had been given special approval to fly in foggy weather hours before the flight took out. Receiving this message was very heartbreaking for the world.
Kobe Bryant was a former NBA Los Angeles Laker. He was a star player since his sneakers hit the gym floor. Bryant has set numerous records and even won the Olympics. Bryant left the basketball court in 2016. Putting up his sneakers and passing the baton to the next NBA champ. Kobe Bryant was placed with one of the greats in the NBA like Micheal Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and many more. It was destruction to the world when the news was swarming on the internet. What was so ironic was that the night before his death Lebron James just passed Kobe for third on an all-time scoring list. It was so crazy how Kobe was just supporting James for this amazing record break and just the next day he took his last breath.
On the day of the passing of Kobe Bryant, another special soul was also taken away. Someone who could’ve been one of the best women’s basketball athletes in the U.S and broken barriers for women’s sports. This was Gianna Bryant, daughter of Kobe Bryant. This sweet angel was only 14 years old and passed the same way and day as her beloved father.
The Bryant family is in our hearts and we are hoping for the best for their families.
