Winter break fun
A profile on Isabella Romero (10)
Like any winter break, the students and teachers have two weeks out of school for Christmas and New Years. This year’s break was from, Monday, December, 25th – to Tuesday, January, 9th.
This is Isabella Romero, a Sophomore and band major here at Blake. Her winter break was filled with fun. She went to the movie theaters to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Jumanji (Welcome to Jumanji) which is the 2017 remake. ” My favorite movie out of the two was Star Wars : The Last Jedi. There were many surprises in the movie itself. It’s also the first Star Wars movie I saw in theaters. The fight scenes were awesome and I hope the next Star Wars movies are just as good!”
She went to a party at her Aunt and Uncle’s house on Christmas Eve and then on Christmas day, Isabella and her family slept in and did their usual family traditions. They even had a fancy Christmas breakfast. “We finally had breakfast as a family. It’s been a long time. I made french toast inspired by my grandmother who passed away. It was her favorite.”
For New Years, Isabella hosted a New Years party at her house. They did fireworks, karaoke, played Minecraft, and of course had some food to eat. ” My favorite activity was doing the fireworks. It gets the whole family outside and happy before the countdown. It’s really cool to see fireworks, especially since it was done in my backyard.”
Isabella said her overall break was interesting, fun, and really enjoyable. “It was better than my freshmen year winter break!”
