YouTuber commits an act of violence towards YouTube

Vegan YouTuber turns against her morals and kills.

The shooter identified as 39, Nasim Najafi Aghdam

On April 3rd 2018, Nasim Najafi Aghdam committed an act of violence. She opened fire at the YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California. Fortunately the only one who died was the shooter herself (in an act of suicide). Although she did injure 3 people, including one who was severly injured. Authorities had said that she opened fire on the YouTube campus with a 9mm semiautomatic handgun that she had legally purchased. They also had stated that she had visited a gun range that Tuesday before heading to YouTube.

The shooter’s brother said he warned the police that his sister “might do something.”

His concerns started over the weekend when his sister stopped answering her phone. Early Tuesday morning, Mountain View police said they found her in her car. Nasim Najafi Aghdam noticed the police were following her, therefore she couldn’t go to her county gun range or she would have gotten caught by the police.

Nasim Najafi Aghdam had four YouTube channels. One in English,Turkish, and Farsi. She also had a hand art channel. She  posted videos about veganism, fitness, and animal cruelty. Her purpose of the videos was to inform people of what is happening to the living things around us, but the way she showed the information was quit inappropriate for some of her viewers. She also had an Instagram account showing the same kind of information. YouTube doing its normal routines found the videos and censored them. They also put an age restriction on the videos. The youtuber complained that her videos where getting less views then her previous videos. At the end of her decision process she decided that YouTube was treating her videos unfairly. Police think the reason for this shooting is that Nasim Najafi Aghdam reportedly felt YouTube was censoring her videos and demonetizing her ads. Late afternoon, Tuesday, April 3rd, YouTube took down her channel completely.
